The collection of mixed media paintings entitled "Worlds Within," combines found objects and swirling paint to create a series of visual experiences revealed on several planes. At first, the canvases appear extremely simple -- often organized by a symmetrical image around which energetic and highly detailed worlds revolve. To explore these outer worlds it is necessary for the viewer to move closer to the canvas. Here the true complexity of the artist's work is revealed, as the highly textured surfaces and overlapping forms create kinetic and ever changing motifs related to the central theme. In these worlds of virtually infinite detail, new imagery and inter-relationships are discovered among the fragments of nature and found objects, allowing the viewer to enter a seemingly endless series of "World's Within."
